My name is Kali Shaw. I am a clinical herbalist, researcher, and writer with over 10 years of experience in the field of high performance. I founded Black Dragon Coffee Company in 2022 in my hometown of Sedona, Arizona, because I have an inexhaustible drive to push the limits of the human body past excellence. I intend to challenge the mainstream narrative surrounding human potential. As a clinical herbalist, I have been trained in many different ways to heal, such as drug interactions, functional nutrition, phytopharmacology, research techniques, scientific evidence, and more than a hundred different dietary theories. Ten years ago, as a young female entrepreneur who was taking a leap of faith into the health and wellness space, I consumed gallons of coffee in my on-the-go lifestyle. I began to look forward to those early mornings when I would brew my first cup, and it became more than a habit—it became a ritual. Over the years, I was constantly on the hunt for that perfect cup of coffee. You know the one—smooth and bold, full of flavor and power—that turns your brain into a supercomputer when the magic happens and does not leave you an anxious, jittery mess when it wears off. I tried everything; I spared no expense. In the end, the adage that led me to start my first business held true again.

This is what led to the creation of Black Dragon Coffee Company, where we focus on exclusive growers of only the highest quality coffee beans. We hold our products and blends to that same high standard. Quality coffee is both an art and a science, and this is the language that we speak. We operate within the high-performance space and design our products to amplify your unique potential.
We chose the Black Dragon for its symbolism of strength, prosperity, longevity, transformation, courage, tenacity, intelligence, enthusiasm, and confidence. Dragons have a long and storied history in distinct cultures around the world. Whether they are four-legged, indomitable beasts as depicted in Europe, or intelligent, wingless, and snake-like in East Asia, they have always represented incomparable power and might.
We specialize in coffee, tea, nootropics, adaptogens, pre and post workout support, and of course – taste! Each blend is crafted by me, the owner, and our in-house herbalist. I draw from a wide variety of healing arts that span thousands of years, including-(but not limited to) Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Traditional European Medicine, Rainforest Medicine and Siberian Medicine. I pair these ancient healing arts with modern breakthroughs and technology to bring you potent high-performance products that have stood the test of both time and science.
